Industrial Maintenance Mechanic II HVAC - Night Shift

About the role

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic II- HVAC position is available in Ocotillo, AZ. The shift is night shift from 3:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., with an alternating work week schedule. The hourly wage range is $20.00 - $24.00, determined by the candidate's qualifications, internal equity, and market data.

Responsibilities

• Assists higher-level technicians in responding to work orders and providing service and feedback to customers on all work orders.
• Trains and assists in troubleshooting mechanical systems and equipment such as pumps, bearings, blowers, fans, gearboxes, air handlers, and other equipment.
• Performs preventive maintenance inspections and implements required preventative maintenance actions like lubrication, cleaning, and filter changes.
• Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptops, and diagnostic hardware to perform maintenance tasks.
• Communicates effectively with customers and provides feedback on work orders.
• Assists in recommending improvements to maintenance methods and equipment performance.
• Enforces safety regulations and follows proper safety guidelines, including job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Operates in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of maintenance experience in HVAC or Facility Maintenance, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
• EPA Section 608 Universal Certification preferred.
• Knowledge of facility mechanical systems such as heating and ventilation, plumbing, conveyors, and R.O. systems.
• Experience in industrial, large commercial, or logistics distribution environments.
• High attention to detail.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Friendly, cooperative, customer service-minded attitude; team player.
• Flexibility in scheduling.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of machinery and equipment such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, supply and exhaust fans, power transmission components, cranes, hoists.
• High attention to detail.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexible in scheduling.

Physical Requirements

• Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
• Some tasks will require walking throughout facilities during a workday.
• Requires climbing extension ladders, roof ladders, stepladders, and stairs.
• Requires bending/stooping, squatting, kneeling, reaching/stretching, and moving in a 90-degree fashion.
• Requires differentiating colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
• Requires reading and understanding information from a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen.
• Requires using a variety of office equipment and operating a computer keyboard.
• Requires attending meetings throughout the site and potentially traveling to other Amentum, customer, and vendor locations.
• Requires communicating with others on the telephone and in one-on-one or group discussions, meetings, and presentations.
• Requires demonstrating proficiency in computer use including the full Microsoft product line.
• Requires moving light to medium weight materials into desks, filing cabinets, and other storage locations.
• Requires interacting with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.

Special Requirements

• Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
• Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment.

Additional Information

Qualified candidates who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. This position may require a valid Driver’s License. This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization. This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.

Compensation Details

$25 per hour.
