Industrial Maintenance Mechanic II - Aerospace

About the role

The Maintenance Mechanic II position at SEKISUI Aerospace's Sumner location is seeking a skilled individual to perform building maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with safety practices and regulatory organizations, troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment issues, and coordinating with external contractors.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all SEKISUI equipment and facilities comply with safety practices and regulatory organizations (OSHA, ANSI, UL, NFPA).
• Respond to machine issues, including troubleshooting and diagnostics, on all factory equipment including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
• Diagnose electrical & controls issues with equipment and SCADA system.
• Coordinate work activities with outside contractors and vendors as needed.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks on equipment on a defined schedule and maintain preventative maintenance instructions.
• Work with production scheduling to minimize production impact when maintaining facilities/equipment.
• Provide accurate time estimates to production management on maintenance functions.
• Ensure maintenance spares inventory is maintained at minimum levels and spares are reordered as they are consumed.
• Install, relocate, facilitate and startup equipment as required.
• Read and understand technical/repair manuals and vendor resources; install new machines.
• Communicate equipment repair status with direct supervisor and production department supervisors and leads.

Requirements

• Able to read, understand, and follow wiring schematics.
• Experience in repairing numerical control machines like CNC machines, ply cutters, and ultrasonic inspection systems.
• Experience with compressed air systems.
• Basic metal fabrication, cutting and welding.
• Experience troubleshooting PLC controls.
• Familiarity with autoclaves, pressure vessels, and gas fired batch equipment.
• Familiarity with the use and maintenance of various pneumatic hand tools.
• Working knowledge of dust collection equipment, HVAC, walk-in freezers and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to climb ladders, operate hand & power tools, drive forklift & scissor lift, utilize fall restraint harness and assemble heavy mechanisms.
• Experience with high voltage electrical systems 480V /240V, AC/DC control systems.
• Previous electrical and controls diagnostics experience preferred.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED.
• An associates degree through an accredited trade school preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• Basic computer & software skills preferred.
• Experience with CMMS.
• Experience with PLC, HMI, Ladder logic desired.

Pay

The starting pay rate for this position is $30.50 - $39.90/hr, with a DOE.
