Job Description
Pay: $33–$42/hr base pay (based on experience) + year end bonus+ $2/hr shift differential for hours worked 5pm-5am
Average Annual: $85K–$107K
Shift: Monday-Thursday 5pm-5am
Location: Douglassville, PA (Serving Reading, Pottstown, Phoenixville, Exeter, Birdsport, Boyertown, and surrounding areas)
What You’ll Do (Day-to-Day Work)
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace mechanical components such as motors, gear boxes, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and augers.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including pressure issues, large cylinders, sensors, proportional valves, solenoids & pumps.
- Stick welding in various positions, locations throughout the factory utilizing various types of joints.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment to minimize downtime.
- Splice, track, tension, align and replace components on conveyor systems.
- Replace wear parts by disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, and refurbishing or replacing components.
- Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, laser alignment tools and various other tools.
- Repair, install and dismantle heavy industrial production equipment according to plans which involves working at heights, climbing ladders and using mobile equipment (cranes, forklift, scissor lift, etc.).
- Document and perform all preventative maintenance tasks as required to maintain equipment dependability.
- Diagnose and replace faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, load cells, switches, contactors, motors, etc.
- Reference technical documentation, electrical schematics, equipment manuals and service instructions to complete work accurately.
Qualifications
- 3 + years’ experience working in Heavy Industrial Maintenance.
- Proficient with use of power tools, measuring devices, lathe and/or milling machinery.
- Previous experience using bearing heaters, interference fits, and/or removing gear boxes or seized bearings/shafts.
- Advanced stick welding and fabrication skills repairing heavy industrial equipment.
- Basic understanding of motor controls, PLCs (programmable logic controllers), and VFDs (variable frequency drives) is preferred.
- Experience working with CMMS software.
- Basic industrial electrical experience.
- Experienced with rigging, hoisting, and equipment installation.
- Experienced with precision alignment and fine adjustments.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends if needed.
