Industrial Hygienest 3 (N3B)

Major Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide industrial hygiene and safety technical guidance to operations on environmental remediation problems and issues.
• Conduct investigations of the site to determine the extent of contamination and ensure work complies with federal, state regulatory requirements and N3B's IHS policies.
• Provide input to N3B's Safety and Health Programs team on developing, maintaining, and revising IHS processes/programs necessary for compliance with technical and regulatory requirements.
• Apply the hierarchy of controls to eliminate or mitigate hazards while ensuring mission success.
• Monitor and review the Industrial Hygiene & Safety performance of subcontractors in areas such as work planning, work execution, installation, inspections, material control, and other areas of their work to confirm compliance with N3B's subcontract work program.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of industrial hygiene and safety practices and principles.
• Experience in managing environmental remediation programs.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Advanced experience in identifying, applying, and interpreting federal codes, standards, and regulations in various IHS areas.
• Advanced experience conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions on problems affecting worker health and safety.
• Knowledge of IHS sampling and measurement equipment and its functionality, calibration, and interpretation of measurements.
• A bachelor’s degree in a technical field with five (5) years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to this level.
• A certified industrial hygienist (CIH) or certified safety professional (CSP) certification is preferred.
