Environmental Technician III - Industrial Hygiene

About the role

AECOM is currently seeking an Environmental Technician to join our team in Seattle, WA. The role involves project coordination, abatement sampling and design, regulated materials compliance, technical writing, and field work for regulated materials abatement and industrial hygiene projects.

Responsibilities

• Support and conduct regulated materials surveys and assessments (e.g., asbestos, lead, PCBs)
• Prepare abatement design documents
• Conduct abatement project monitoring including performing quality assurance on contractors' work
• Utilize regulated materials compliance knowledge for successful project execution
• Assist or lead technical proposal writing, reporting writing, and data entry
• Support as a cross-disciplinary resource for numerous departments within AECOM
• Occasionally travel out of town for project requirements

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 4 years of related experience OR Associates Degree and 2 years of related experience OR Bachelors Degree and 0 years of experience
• EPA asbestos building inspector and project designer certification
• EPA Lead Inspector/Assessor certification
• NIOSH 582 or equivalent air sample analyst certification
• OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
• Ability to occasionally travel out of town, less than 25% of time
• Flexible work schedule to ensure project timelines are completed
• Knowledge or experience in mechanical systems, able to diagnose and correct any issues
• Possess strong writing and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with project team
