Position Summary
Responsible to maintain, and repair, Boiler/Chiller, cooling towers, plumbing systems, low pressure steam systems. This role supports campus wide building maintenance, responds to weather related incidents, and utilizes building automation systems such as Metasys and Automated Logic.
Essential Job Functions
- Install, maintain, and repair residential and commercial plumbing and HVAC equipment consistent with plumbing mechanical and electrical codes.
- Perform routine maintenance on All types of HVAC equipment to include Boilers, Chillers, and Cooling Towers.
- Strong knowledge of BAS/EMS (building automation systems/Energy Management systems) preferred. Note: Unity's current system: Metasys/Automated Logic.
- Ownership of Preventive Maintenance program associated within assigned area.
- Prioritize and meet all work order requests in a timely and effective manner.
- Recognize and report hazardous conditions requiring immediate action.
- Clock in/out using electronic time management system.
- Coordinate assigned work orders with other departments, on ground residents, guests and employees.
- Proven ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate self-motivation.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures including all safety guidelines, including compliance with regulations regarding the handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- After hours/weekends and on-call rotation responsibilities to meet the demands of Maintenance department.
Qualifications
- Education: Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Current Refrigeration Transition and Recovery Universal Certification or 608 Certification.
- Valid Driver's license'
- Vocational or technical school in heating, ventilating, air conditioning strongly preferred.
- Chiller and low-pressure Steam experience Preferred.
- Computer Skills: Minimum basic end user of a keyboard, capable of data entry/inputting information in the electronic time management system.
- Certificates & Licenses: Current Refrigeration Transition and Recovery Universal Certification covering Type 1, Type ll, and Type lll equipment.
- Boiler certification or acquired within the first-year employment date.
- Water Treatment Certification or acquired within two years of employment date.
- Experience: Two (3) to five (5) years' experience in the Industrial mechanical, electrical and plumbing trades.
- Ability to repair and replace pumps, motors, and HVAC equipment.
- Two (3) to five (5) years' in demonstrating the ability to troubleshoot and identify the correct and most cost-effective solutions.
- Two (3) to five years (5) experience Interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with all levels within the organization.
- Work with Excel & Microsoft programs
