Job Description

Fluor is seeking an experienced Industrial HVAC Technician to support operations at the Rand Whitney Containerboard paper mill in Montville, CT. The position involves performing preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC systems, troubleshooting and repairing various components, and working closely with electrical technicians.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on all HVAC systems throughout the mill
  • Read and work from blueprints, P&IDs, ladder logic, wiring diagrams, and single line drawings
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, glycol loops, air makeup units, and plant exhaust equipment
  • Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, amprobes, RTD/mA/T C calibrators, and laptops for system communication
  • Work closely with E&I technicians when needed
  • Enter work orders, parts, and PM data into the CMMS (Maximo)
  • Diagnose control issues using your understanding of PLC logic and operation
  • Work with equipment such as: Rosemount temperature transmitters, ASCO solenoids, pressure and flow limit switches

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 license preferred, or a 2 year HVAC certificate/trade school equivalent
  • 4+ years of HVAC experience (industrial experience a plus)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with 24V and 120V control circuits
  • Familiarity with PLCs (Allen Bradley, GE Fanuc)
  • Ability to follow strict safety procedures, including Lock Tag try and confined space protocols
  • Detail oriented mindset and willingness to document work properly
