About the role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Industrial Facilities Technician I to join our growing team. As a key member of our facility management workforce, you will play an essential role in ensuring that all industrial machinery and facility infrastructure operates smoothly and efficiently. In this hands-on position, you will focus on routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex systems within our industrial environment. You will work closely with other technicians and maintenance staff to maintain optimal performance levels and to implement preventive maintenance programs.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with other technicians and maintenance staff to maintain optimal performance levels and to implement preventive maintenance programs.
- Ensure proper documentation of work performed using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical repair tasks.
- Support scheduled preventive maintenance inspections, and repairs on fire safety systems (Emergency Exits / Lighting, Safety Showers, Flammable gas detectors, etc.).
- Help troubleshoot issues with facility equipment and systems, including electrical, mechanical, lighting, and plumbing under supervision of maintenance technician or supervisor.
- Avoid unexpected challenges by responding quickly and maintaining a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols during all maintenance activities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in industrial maintenance or related field preferred.
- Prior experience in an industrial facility, mechanical, or maintenance setting preferred.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and willingness to learn.
- Familiarity with lockout/tagout (LOTO) and other safety procedures.
- Experience driving forklifts and mobile elevated work platforms (MEWP) preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to safety.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations.
