Job Responsibilities
- Serves as the primary driver of the field operations by managing personnel and equipment on assigned jobs to deliver client services that meet all Company objectives.
- Responsible for daily activities of assigned jobs through direct report Foreman and other field and support personnel.
- Primary responsibility for implementation of MER Health & Safety Program and site specific Health and Safety Plans (HASP’s) on assigned jobs.
- May conduct job safety audits to ensure full compliance with program.
- Reviews work orders to assure clarity and adequacy of client expectations.
- Aids Program Manager in scoping projects or developing operating plans.
- Coordinates and/or ensures logistical determinations and decisions on assigned jobs are carried out to exceed client expectations.
- Maintains progress of all assigned projects by regularly communicating with responsible field personnel and Operations management.
- Prepares, accumulates, and/or reviews required project documentation for assigned jobs to assure completeness, accuracy, quality, timeliness, and follow-up actions.
- Enforces company policies and procedures and provides performance feedback, guidance, and mentoring support to field operations employees.
- Maintains close communications with Business Manager, Program Managers, Account Managers, and/or Client Service Representatives to assure proper scheduling and resource needs are relayed and carried out.
- May provide backup support to Logistics Manager as needed.
- Participates in Emergency Response teams with primary responsibility to ensure the readiness of team members and equipment resources and enforce ER policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of Foreman experience required.
- Strong leadership skills, training, and/or experience.
- Strong communication (both written and verbal), analytical, and persuasive skills.
- Effective interaction with all levels of clients, employees, and management.
- Multi-task oriented and strong supervisory, time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding and analysis of job costs, profit, and loss.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA 1910, 1915, and 1926 standards, DOT standards, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
- Ability to work in a wide range of environments including hazardous conditions.
- Appropriate licenses, in good standing, and meet applicable MER and DOT driving requirements.
- Ability to work in excess of regularly scheduled hours when necessary.
- Ability to travel overnight as required by business needs.
- Participation in and successful completion of continuing education training courses in occupational safety and environmental regulations as outlined by the MER employee development program.
- Minimum training requirements include: 29 CFR 1910.120 OSHA 40 Hour Hazwoper and 8 Hour Annual Refresher, 29 CFR 1910.147 OSHA Confined Space Training, 29 CFR 1910.151 OSHA First Aid and CPR Certified, 29 CFR 1910.1101 Asbestos Supervisor/Contractor and Annual Refresher (as applicable by field specialty), 33 CFR 154.710 USCG Person-In-Charge Training, 49 CFR 172.704 DOT Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Training, 49 CFR 214.343 FRA Roadway Worker On-track Safety Training.
