Position Overview
The Industrial Engineer performs complex tasks related to planning, improvement, modernization, analysis, and installation of integrated systems involving personnel, materials, and equipment to support depot operations. Responsibilities include shop relocations, facility installations, and developing technical data for procurement. They investigate production issues, assess machine and line capabilities, and modify or establish new production lines to meet requirements.
Key Duties
- Manage assignments from design to installation, including preparing drawings, parts lists, and work orders
- Provide technical supervision, serve as project engineer, and advise on production problems
- Develop procedures, analyze technical literature, and conduct tests for manufacturing and overhaul processes
- Liaise with manufacturers, troubleshoot equipment, and recommend corrective actions
- Prepare technical specifications, test procedures, and installation instructions
- Serve as Contracting Officer Representative and stay updated through seminars and site visits
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum three years' related experience; higher education may substitute
- Broad knowledge of engineering theories, methods, and analysis
- Strong problem-solving, technical analysis, and project management skills
- Ability to develop solutions, work with diverse teams, and communicate effectively
- Experience with IT systems related to engineering tasks
- Proficiency in preparing and evaluating plans, reports, and designs
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from an accredited institution
- Ability to obtain an active security clearance
