About the role
This position is responsible for direct and indirect labor and activities affecting line speed, cycle checks, scrolls, workstation assignments, change control, and line balancing. The Industrial Engineer will utilize lean concepts to identify and eliminate waste and perform time/motion studies. This role assists the IE manager and IE supervisor with technical services to maintain efficient levels of lean manufacturing and manning.
Responsibilities
- Manage direct and indirect labor activities impacting line speed and cycle checks
- Oversee scrolls and workstation assignments
- Support change control and line balancing initiatives
- Apply lean concepts to identify and eliminate waste
- Conduct time and motion studies
- Provide technical services to sustain efficient lean manufacturing and manning levels
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or another related technical field of study
- Ability to interface with all levels of the organization, from shop floor to management
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Willingness to work any shift, overtime, and occasional travel
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Industrial Engineering or Industrial Technology
- Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles
- Experience with time study/standards, ratings, MODAPTS, ergonomic evaluations, MTM-UAS, and budgets
- Assembly or stamping experience
