About the role
From Caterpillar heavy and compact construction equipment to on-highway trucks, Yancey Bros. Co. serves as the authorized Caterpillar equipment dealer for Georgia, focusing on understanding and meeting customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Works in a neat and orderly manner, maintaining a safe work environment and focusing on completing tasks safely.
- Proficiently and accurately performs maintenance, diagnoses, and repairs on Caterpillar and other makes of power generation equipment in various applications.
- Applies specific failure analysis techniques and procedures to determine root causes of failures and communicates findings to customers and office personnel.
- Cares for and maintains company machines/equipment to the highest standards and ensures co-workers do the same.
- Responds to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed.
- Writes full reports on findings from field service events, with clear, concise information.
- Communicates effectively and professionally with customers on the status of their maintenance and/or repairs.
- Must be willing to work overtime as required and available for after-hours calls.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, knowledge of tools applicable to the position, and a desire to learn.
- A strong sense of urgency and desire to provide superior customer service.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred, 3+ years of EPG field experience or accepted alternate.
- Experience with Caterpillar Diesel and Natural Gas Engines, good working knowledge of power generation components, power electronics, electronic controls, and fuel systems.
- Microsoft Office Software proficiency, ability to read electrical schematics and equipment mechanical drawings.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to manage customer relationships, high level of responsiveness, and a strong proactive attitude to problem solving.
- Able to obtain a CDL license if required.
