About the Role

This leadership position encompasses the day-to-day direction of Industrial Engineer I and II levels in planning, controlling, and execution of duties. The role serves as the group expert when that level of representation is needed and is responsible for coordinating work activities and training team members.

Unique Skills

The ideal candidate will be able to:

  • Efficiently evaluate data to implement technological improvements in production and factory processes
  • Write macros using Excel VBA and SQL query code, preferably in Power BI and Excel
  • Generate documentation for work processes, automation, and coding projects
  • Collect and analyze data into visuals for multiple internal stakeholders

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Power BI, Microsoft SQL Server, Visual Studio, Power Automate, and Power Apps
  • Experience with JSON or HTML coding (a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis with area Management to establish and maintain daily work activities
  • Design and maintain part presentation requirements and procedures in collaboration with area Management, support staff, and Material Control
  • Coordinate across the site to manage commonality of material handling and presentation processes
  • Identify equipment, machinery, and facilities acquisition, including justifications, economic analysis, and project management through implementation
  • Develop and maintain Tool Box requirements and contents, including tool control, FOD prevention measures, and tool requirements matched to area tasks
  • Apply 3D print capability to assist in resolving technical issues (e.g., shop aids, Protect the Product)
  • Lead implementation of additive manufacturing tools/techniques to further develop applications in production/post-production environments
  • Provide business case analysis and recommendations for projects, including make/buy decisions, MCR, Engineering Changes, and Tooling requests
  • Support all Safety, Sustainability, and Ergonomic initiatives
  • Implement plant layout, process flow, and material handling techniques
  • Support area management in generating orders/requests for Tooling, including managing tool priorities
  • Investigate, evaluate, and implement facilities expansions, department rearrangements, new technologies, manufacturing techniques, and employee suggestions
  • Assume the duties of the area manager in their absence; advise and assist subordinates
  • Perform audits of co-workers' output based on defined requirements and procedures
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Industrial Engineering policies and procedures
  • Independently lead/coordinate the implementation of projects among multiple organizations
  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles/methods as a team member or leader
  • Develop and maintain workplace methods and manpower requirements
  • Assist in the training and development of entry-level industrial engineering personnel
  • Aid in the development and maintenance of the Business Continuity Plan as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related curriculum, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
  • 4 years of Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Engineering, or related technical experience
  • Proven knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma principles
  • Ability to influence across functional disciplines
  • Knowledgeable about Engineering configuration requirements, tooling, quality control, plant safety, blueprint reading, and shop math
  • Demonstrated ability to operate computerized equipment, such as personal computers, CATIA, etc.
  • Lean Six-Sigma Green Belt, equivalent certification, or proven experience in a Lean Six-Sigma environment (highly desirable)
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
