Industrial Electricity / Mechatronics Instructor
Job Responsibilities
The Industrial Electricity/Mechatronics Instructor is responsible to the Department Head of Industrial Technology for the delivery of quality instruction and management of students enrolled in the program. Responsibilities will include the development, implementation, and evaluation of program in collaboration with peers. Duties will include, but are not limited to, teaching courses to diverse student body. Participate and coordinate in the assessment of the departments instructional needs and assist in the planning and delivery necessary to meet those needs. Foster and promote all educational programs and activities offered through the college. Advise and keep records of assigned student advisees by division and departmental advising policy and procedures. Make student referrals when deemed necessary to other college personnel. Maintain established office hours. Assist the department in recruiting and retaining students in the program. Assist students with placement upon graduation. Support the department in developing reports and budget projections for supplies and equipment. Assist in the development of a term by term schedule of course offerings. Aid in hiring, training, evaluating, and loading oof adjunct instructors within the department. Maintain contact with appropriate business/industry or advisory groups.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
- Associate degree in Industrial Electricity Technology (or related field in industrial electronics, mechatronics or robotics) or a certificate in Industrial Electricity with five (5) years experience in an automated manufacturing setting utilizing programmable logic controllers and/or robotics.
- Prior teaching experience at the post secondary level in industrial electricity.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
