Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and coordinate work for electricians and apprentices performing maintenance, repair, and installation of industrial electrical systems.
- Plan, schedule, and execute electrical maintenance activities to ensure equipment and facility uptime.
- Lead electrical work on capital projects, including reading schematics, reviewing plans, and coordinating with engineers, contractors, and other trades.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair equipment such as motors, drives, control panels, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, PLCs, and instrumentation.
- Maintain and update electrical documentation, including wiring diagrams, panel schedules, and asset records.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and site-specific safety standards.
- Aid with procurement of materials and tools needed for maintenance and project work.
- Provide regular progress reports to management on maintenance performance and project status.
- Conduct job safety analyses (JSAs) and enforce lockout/tagout (LOTO) and other safety procedures.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for system upgrades, energy efficiency improvements, and cost reductions.
- Cookordinate with other departments to minimize production disruptions during maintenance or project work.
- Support commissioning and startup activities for new or modified equipment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical school diploma or associate degree in Electrical Technology preferred.
- Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician license strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of industrial electrical experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of industrial electrical systems up to 480V (or higher as required).
- Experience with VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial control systems.
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for work orders and asset tracking.
- Proven track record of successfully managing capital projects and coordinating contractors.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and P&IDs.
