About the role

Hunt Electric, Inc. of Salt Lake City, UT is searching for a full-time licensed Industrial Electrical Foreman to join our team within the Industrial Division.

Responsibilities

  • Diplomatically manage the crews and provide appropriate training, positive and constructive feedback.
  • Plan and layout the project including planned installation material take-off quantities and tool needs based on the project schedule.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and install control circuits and compute electrical.
  • Able to read, to understand, and to interpret electrical plans, complex circuit schematics and blueprints.
  • Establish a site-specific safety plan and evaluate project risks to personnel and equipment to mitigate them.
  • Understand, review and implement the installation per the contract drawings and specifications.
  • Evaluate the contracted scope of work with the PM to determine change requests and schedule affect.
  • Plan the project’s material, equipment, and labor needs for timely arrival to and from the site.
  • Monitor daily progress to the short-term and long-term schedules to meet commitments. Provide daily written documentation of activities and obstacles.
  • Conduct and participate in project meetings as needed and provide necessary trade coordination.
  • Cook up and communicate with the PM and purchasing manager with detailed material requisitions, and delivery schedules.
  • Knowledge of the installation of cable tray systems, tray cable installation, heat trace, rigid conduit bending and threading, motor control centers and instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of MHSA & OHSA Standards.
  • Able to communicate technical information, listen to instructions and ask questions, as necessary.
  • Able to climb ladders, sufficient mobility to perform duties in small spaces by crouching, stooping, or kneeling and physical ability to perform tasks.
  • Establish and implement prefab project-specific tasks.
  • Able to manage more than one project at a time.
  • Desire to contribute to improving standards and processes.
  • Actively contributes to a positive team environment.
  • Demonstrates dependability with regular attendance and compliance to scheduled work hours.
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for learning, goal-oriented mindset for continual growth, with a “Can-Do” positive attitude.
  • Other duties or locations as assigned by manager.

Qualifications

  • Current Utah Journeyman license.
  • Five plus years of installation experience with the latest electrical code, means, and methods.
  • Be able to apply the latest technological techniques to maximize employee safety, quality, and production.
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, such as indoor and outdoor lighting systems and timing.
  • Superior internal and external communication and interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.).
  • Team player with acknowledging contributions by others.
  • Have basic computer skills such as Outlook, Bluebeam, Word and Excel.
  • Experience in food and beverage, manufacturing, automation and controls, or wastewater treatment.
  • Have previously successfully supervised projects with crews ranging from 2 to 50 personnel, meeting safety, quality and production goals.
