Essential Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain manufacturing technology systems to ensure maximum uptime and production efficiency.
  • Maintain Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), production databases, dashboards, reporting systems, and shop floor applications.
  • Troubleshoot software, hardware, and connectivity issues impacting manufacturing operations.
  • Deploy upgrades, enhancements, and new applications supporting production processes.
  • Maintain system documentation, configuration standards, and operating procedures.
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain industrial network infrastructure and connected devices throughout the facility.
  • Troubleshoot communication issues between machines, controls, servers, and business systems.
  • Ensure reliable data collection and communication between manufacturing equipment and enterprise systems.
  • Install and maintain: Industrial PCs and HMIs, Vision systems, Barcode readers, Thermal transfer printers, Cameras and inspection systems, Network switches and industrial communication devices.
  • Implement and maintain OT cybersecurity standards and best practices.
  • Support patch management and upgrades of industrial devices and systems.
  • Manage user access and security permissions for production systems.
  • Affirm that manufacturing equipment complies with corporate cybersecurity requirements.
  • Assist with cybersecurity assessments and remediation activities.
  • Support deployment of new manufacturing equipment and automation technologies.
  • Participate in machine integration projects that connect equipment to manufacturing and business systems.
  • Assist with data collection, machine monitoring, and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams during equipment installations and upgrades.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts through enhanced system connectivity and data visibility.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Maintenance, IT, and external vendors.
  • Provide technical support and training for manufacturing system users.
  • Coordinate system deployments and technology upgrades with plant stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in manufacturing, automation, controls, or industrial systems environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial equipment and machine communications.
  • Knowledge of industrial networking concepts and Ethernet-based communication systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
  • Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems.
  • Experience with OPC UA and industrial communication protocols.
  • Experience with machine vision systems.
  • Knowledge of barcode scanning and thermal transfer printing systems.
  • Experience supporting Industrial PCs and Windows-based manufacturing systems.
  • Understanding of Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity.
  • Exposure to SQL Server and manufacturing databases.
