Indoor Farm Laborer - Grow Room Assistant I

About the role

This is a highly physical job with duties including planting, transplanting and harvesting cannabis plants and cleaning operating equipment when necessary. This position may also be required to work with and learn about other farm functional areas.

Responsibilities

• Harvesting growing systems - tasks may include: Pre-harvest setup activities, pre-harvest cleaning activities, board runner activities, harvest cutter activities, and harvest quality control.
• Grow room cleaning - tasks may include: Post-harvest/post-packaging cleaning activities, cleaning grow system(s), and preparing for transplants.
• Transplanting - tasks may include: Transporting seedlings from nursery and transplanting onto grow boards, and hanging fully loaded grow boards on grow system(s).
• Washroom operations - tasks may include: Pressure washer operation, hand washing, and other cleaning activities.
• Processing room operations - tasks may include: Pre-processing activities, final product inspection, boxing and labeling activities, line feeding activities, and cooler preparation activities.
• Other duties and responsibilities - depending on skills, experience, and level of comfort, may be asked to assist with light assembly or construction work as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of nursery operations and equipment preferred, especially as it applies to harvesting food products in a soil-less controlled agricultural environment.
• Experience with food cleaning processes and equipment, packaging processes is preferred.

Physical Demands

• Regularly stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
• Regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions, work near moving mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, vibration, and noise levels in the work environment.
