Individual Engagement Manager - Major Gifts
About the role
The Individual Engagement Manager/Major Gifts will lead major gifts fundraising and deepen relationships with individual donors. Responsibilities include managing a personal portfolio of major gift prospects and donors, cultivating relationships, soliciting annual investments, and stewarding donors toward leadership, planned, and endowment giving. Collaboration with UWECI leadership, volunteers, and internal teams is essential for implementing donor engagement strategies, supporting giving societies and affinity groups, analyzing donor trends, and driving sustainable philanthropic investment in the community.
Responsibilities
- Manage a personal portfolio of major gift prospects and donors
- Cultivate relationships with individual donors
- Solicit annual investments from donors
- Steward donors toward leadership, planned, and endowment giving
- Collaborate with UWECI leadership, volunteers, and internal teams to implement donor engagement strategies
- Support giving societies and affinity groups
- Analyze donor trends and provide insights
- Drive sustainable philanthropic investment in the community
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fundraising or related field
- Experience managing a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Qualifications
- Proven success in major gifts fundraising
- Experience with donor stewardship and relationship management
- Knowledge of nonprofit governance and operations
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with donors and stakeholders
- Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM software
