About the role

Responsible for soliciting potential customers and investing the Bank’s funds in acceptable loans in accordance with Bank policy and regulation, as well as servicing the current loan portfolio and customer relationships. The role focuses on developing and managing loan accounts that meet established lending requirements, provide maximum profitability to the Bank with minimal risk, and comply with banking regulations. Ensures loans extended are properly documented and updated as necessary, and stays abreast of changes in the banking industry and the environment in which the Bank operates.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the Bank to customers in a courteous and professional manner, providing prompt, efficient, and accurate service.
  • Build relationships with auto dealers to increase loan volume for the Indirect Department.
  • Stay current with auto industry changes to ensure City Bank remains competitive in the Indirect market.
  • Underwrite Indirect loan applications submitted by auto dealerships.
  • Collect on past due Indirect loan accounts.
  • Service and maintain Indirect loans.
  • Provide customer support for Indirect loans.
  • Assist Indirect Lending Doc Prep to expedite the funding process on Indirect loans.
  • Interview loan applicants to obtain and analyze financial and other relevant information to determine creditworthiness.
  • Establish and negotiate loan terms, including costs, repayment methods, and collateral requirements.
  • Collect and analyze interim information on outstanding loans under servicing responsibility.
  • Collect accounts with an acceptable level of past dues.
  • Visit customer businesses to inspect plant facilities.
  • Advise customers on business management or financial affairs when appropriate.
  • Serve as a contact for customers regarding non-loan related services.
  • Develop a customer base through active solicitation of prospective and existing clients, with an emphasis on selling bank products.
  • Approve loans utilizing individual lending authority as provided in loan policy.
  • Develop materials and make recommendations to the Loan Committee on requests above individual authority requiring Committee approval.
  • Counsel and assist in the training and development of other loan officers as requested.
  • Provide input to officers on loan requests regarding credit quality, structure, and pricing.
  • Maintain an active interest in local and national affairs that could impact lending activities.
  • Maintain involvement in civic and community activities, representing the Bank in a favorable manner.
  • Give attention to detail and provide excellent communication skills.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and professional work area.
  • Participate in training sessions as required by supervisor.
