Indirect Commodity Specialist
About the role
This position supports Sourcing activities related to Professional Services across the North American region. Key responsibilities include developing and executing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, monitoring vendor performance, resolving supplier issues, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies and budgetary requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage supplier relationships and escalation issues with site/region specific suppliers
- Participate in Supplier AVL (approved vendor list) development, supplier compliance tracking, supplier business continuity, and contract spend management
- Collaborate with business function managers and other stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities, support projects, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality services
- Accurately report savings results using the SPOR (Savings Plan of Record) tool
- Lead presentations to Senior Directors and VPs internally and externally supporting the implementation of sourcing programs in alignment with Global and Regional Commodity Strategies
Requirements
- Educational background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, logistics, Business Administration or related discipline
- Work experience: 5+ years in purchasing, supply chain, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic knowledge and application of purchasing and contract negotiations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint)
- Good oral and written communication, negotiation, and multitasking skills with good organizational skills
- SAP experience is a plus

- Location: Based in Hercules, California, with commuting distance to the office required

- Experience in developing and implementing category strategies using tools like vendor consolidation, Global/Regional RFPs, pricing analyses, and direct negotiation efforts
- Ability to manage supplier relations and escalate issues effectively
- Knowledge of risk mitigation plans and supplier qualification processes
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills

Pay
The estimated base salary range for this position is $96,600 to $132,900 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.
Schedule
This position requires the employee to be located within commuting distance of the office.
