About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and people-oriented individual to support adults with disabilities in their everyday lives. This role offers comprehensive paid training and the opportunity to help individuals develop independent living skills, establish meaningful relationships, and participate actively in their communities.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating meaningful community connections
  • Establishing friendships
  • Exploring and participating in a variety of recreational and educational activities with your client
  • Teaching independent life skills
  • Increasing helpful, adaptive behaviors
  • Driving clients in your personal vehicle and/or taking public transportation
  • Providing emotional support
  • Acting quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Requirements

  • This is an entry-level position requiring at least a High School Diploma and one year of training and experience in providing support services for individuals with physical or developmental disabilities, or an A.A. degree in psychology or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a personal care assistant.
  • Committed to health & safety.
  • Well-organized and reliable.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Positive and compassionate attitude.
  • Strong ethics.
  • Physical stamina.
  • CPR certified.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: 1 year+ experience with Supported Living Services, Applied Behavior Analysis, and/or caregiving.
  • Willing to be:
  • CPR/First-Aid certified.
