About the role
Join our Supported Living Services team as a Sr. Community Support Companion and directly impact the lives of adults with autism or other developmental disabilities. You will work with individuals in their own homes and surrounding communities across Los Angeles County (Torrance, Culver City, Brentwood, Koreatown, West LA).
Supported Living Services allow individuals with developmental disabilities to live in their own homes while developing independent living skills, creating meaningful relationships, and participating as active members in their families and communities.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate meaningful community connections and establish friendships
- Explore and participate in recreational and educational activities
- Teach independent life skills and increase helpful, adaptive behaviors
- Write Individual Support Plan reports
- Coordinate and arrange site scheduling and substitute coverage
- Provide hands-on training to Companions working with new individuals
- Compile client data and assist with new individual set-up for their apartment and services
- Provide 24-hour on-call coverage
- Respond to emergencies by administering First Aid or CPR and contacting 911

Requirements
- High School Diploma and two years of training/experience supporting individuals with physical or developmental disabilities, or an A.A. degree in psychology or a related field
- Demonstrated honesty, respect, and a positive, professional work ethic
- High level of accountability and dependability
- Knowledge of positive behavior supports (a plus)
- Ability to support clients in daily routines (nutrition, self-care, social, recreational, personal relationships, money management, etc.)
- Certification in CPR/First Aid and ProAct within the first two weeks of employment
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, and lift 25 lbs
- Pass a Live Scan DOJ/FBI background check and pre-employment drug test
- Valid California Driver’s license with a clean DMV record
- Proof of current car insurance
- Minimum of 2 years in-field and/or residential experience
- Availability all week
- DSP 1 & 2 certification
