Independent Engineering Consultant
Summary Of Certifications And Job Requirements
- University degree in electrical, civil or mechanical engineering
- Master’s degree or other post-graduate degrees in engineering and/or business are a plus
- From 5-10 years of experience working within the renewable energy sector (wind, solar, BESS, hydropower)
- Project management and engagement leadership experience on technical services in project financing, M&A, asset sales and refinancing
- Experience leading business development and proposal teams
- Professional Engineer status or intention/ability to become accredited as a PE; PE license in multiple jurisdictions preferred
Qualifications
- Proven track record in developing strong and lasting relationships with clients
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and client engagement skills
- Excellent written and report writing and editing skills
- MS Office fluency
- Some knowledge of intermittent energy resource assessment, energy yield forecasting and associated major tools (PV Syst, WaSP, Windfarmer, etc.)
- Ability to work within focused and multidisciplinary teams and experience in leading teams and projects
- Familiarity with typical industry contracts, such as OEM supply, EPC, interconnection, services agreements, warranties, guarantees
- Familiarity with credit agreements, IE certifications, drawdowns and reliance matters
- Familiarity with PPAs and offtake contracts
