About the role
MSAD 11 is seeking an Inclusion Specialist to lead the implementation of systems and methods supporting inclusion and the least restrictive environment for all special education students.
Responsibilities
- Establish a system to monitor and ensure compliance with all special education timelines required in the Child Find, Evaluation, and IEP processes
- Advocate for least restrictive environment (LRE)
- Proactively engage with the Individualized Education Program Team (IEP)
- Analyze and synthesize evaluation data to aid in determining eligibility and programming needs
- Assist in identifying necessary evaluations to address referral questions and to aid in eligibility discussions
- Collaborate with and liaise with staff regarding MTSS, eligibility, and compliance, etc.
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with all team members, parents, and the community
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in special education, educational leadership, administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a teacher of students with disabilities
- (282) Teacher of Children with Disabilities State of Maine Certification
- Current CHRC authorization through the State of Maine Department of Education
- Maine Department of Education certification as one of the following: Assistant Administrator of Special Education (035), Administrator of Special Education (030), Building Administrator (040), or Assistant Building Administrator (045)
Pay
Teacher Pay Scale (2025-2026) Pending Negotiations
Placement on the scale is dependent upon degree and experience.
BS MS CAS Level 1 $44,276 $46,712 $48,814
Level 17 $75,110 $79,242 $82,808
Plus a $10,000 administrator stipend.
