About the role
The Incarcerated Grievance Program Supervisor will coordinate, supervise, and enforce the Incarcerated Grievance Program from the facility level and, when necessary, through the additional appellate process. This role involves frequent direct one-to-one and group contact with incarcerated individuals.
Responsibilities
- Inform incarcerated individuals and facility staff of legal mandates and policies concerning incarcerated individual grievances and provide training regarding the program.
- Ensure all necessary information and documentation regarding an incarcerated individual's grievance is available for consideration by the facility Incarcerated Grievance Resolution Committee (IGRC), Superintendent, and Central Office Review Committee (CORC).
- Respond to questions regarding the legitimacy of grievances under this program from facility and Central Office staff, and the Office of the Attorney General, including for litigation matters.
- Inform facility staff and incarcerated individuals of changes in the program's policy and procedure, maintain a confidential log of daily grievance activity, and generate monthly and annual reports on grievance activity and outcomes.
Requirements
- Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
- Experience Required: 3 months
Qualifications
- Frequent direct one-to-one and group contact with incarcerated individuals.
- Knowledge of legal mandates and policies concerning incarcerated individual grievances.
- Ability to respond to questions regarding the legitimacy of grievances under the program.
- Proficiency in maintaining confidentiality and generating reports.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
