Pay
The starting pay range for this position is $26.75 - $28.75 per hour. The full pay range is $26.75 - $45.50 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.

About the Role
Working at Target means helping all families discover the joy of everyday life. As a General Merchandise and Food Sales team member, you will lead inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise (GM) areas of the store. This includes Food & Beverage and Food Service, ensuring a fresh and food-safe experience. You will also own pick, pack, and ship fulfillment work, and manage trailer deliveries to prepare merchandise for the sales floor.
Responsibilities
- Consistently deliver a guest experience that is Easy, Inspiring, and Friendly.
- Ensure every team member understands, is trained on, and delivers Target’s guest experience commitments and consistent operations.
- Observe and provide feedback, holding team members accountable while recognizing great guest experience moments.
- Review guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, improve execution, and celebrate wins.
- Execute daily and weekly workload to meet department and store sales goals and guest engagement targets.
- Lead and share expertise in operations, freshness, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Establish clear goals and expectations, and hold team members accountable with guidance from your direct leader.
- Utilize workload planning tools to ensure areas are guest-ready at store open.
- Assign daily tasks based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns.
- Assess GM backroom and sales floor areas to identify and resolve gaps.
- Assist in leading organizational and operational change.
- Build and develop a team of GM Experts from selection through onboarding and ongoing training.
- Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and creating equitable experiences.
- Lead a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; hold team members accountable.
- Model and enforce physical security processes to enhance in-store security.
- Support merchandise protection strategies across the store.
- Occasionally assume store-level leadership on duty (LOD) responsibilities.
- Address store and offsite emergency and compliance needs.
- Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick-up (OPU), and Drive-Up (DU).
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws, including adult beverage regulations.
Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Age 18 or older.
- Previous retail experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to current technology needs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Capability to manage workload and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
- Effective communication skills.
- Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.
- Interpret instructions, reports, and information accurately.
- Handle cash register operations as needed.
- Climb up and down ladders as needed.
- Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting and carrying up to 44 pounds repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays; reliable and prompt attendance.
- Capable of working in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements.
- Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a shift (shift length may vary).
