Inbound Logistics Manager

Babylist · United States · 2 wk ago
RemoteRemoteSupply Chain$235/hrFull-time

About the Role

Babylist moves more than $100 million in annual transportation spend, and inbound volume is on track to double. Today inbound and outbound sit under one small team, and on-time delivery is running at 57%. We’re splitting the function so inbound gets a dedicated owner for the first time.

You’ll own on-time delivery performance and cost for everything moving from our vendors, domestic and international, into both fulfillment centers. You’ll lead carrier relationships across five freight modes, run QBRs and contract negotiations alongside procurement, validate freight invoicing, and partner with Product and Engineering to replace manual spreadsheet tracking with real dashboards and automated workflows. Fully remote. Roughly 15% travel, including quarterly visits to our fulfillment centers.

Responsibilities

  • Own inbound on-time delivery performance to both fulfillment centers across domestic and international vendors.
  • Lead carrier relationships, contract negotiations alongside procurement, and quarterly business reviews across all five freight modes (LTL, TL, Intermodal, Ocean, Air).
  • Validate freight invoices, audit carrier charges, and manage transportation chargebacks.
  • Run the vendor portal for shipment visibility and partner with Vendor Compliance on lead times.
  • Coordinate PO ETAs and delivery windows with Planning and Buying.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to define metrics, build dashboards, and automate workflows to replace manual spreadsheet tracking.
  • Build carrier performance baselines and shape the inbound roadmap as volume doubles.

Requirements

  • Deep international trade experience across ocean and air freight, including customs documentation and trade compliance.
  • Proven carrier negotiator across LTL, TL, Intermodal, Ocean, and Air, including contract terms and quarterly business reviews.
  • Track record of improving an underperforming on-time delivery metric, not just reporting on it.
  • Fluent in TMS platforms, carrier portals, invoice auditing tools, and appointment scheduling systems.
  • Comfortable building your own views in Sigma, Snowflake, or equivalent rather than waiting on someone else’s report.
  • Able to align planners, buyers, DC leaders, vendor compliance, and engineering without direct authority.
  • Genuine excitement about AI as a practical tool—you want to use it daily, not just discuss it conceptually.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; the inbound roadmap is still being written, and you’ll help define it.

Why This Role

  • Inbound volume is doubling, and this is the first dedicated owner of it—the scope grows as you build it.
  • On-time delivery sits at 57% today, presenting a measurable problem with clear room for improvement.
  • You’ll spec the tooling rather than inherit it; Product and Engineering are ready to build what you define.
  • Over $100 million in annual transportation spend runs through this function, so your carrier and cost decisions directly impact planning and merchandising.

Pay

The starting salary range for this role is $116,200 to $139,400, plus target bonus and competitive equity. Your starting salary will be based on your location, experience, and qualifications, with increases over time tied to performance, role growth, and internal pay equity.

Benefits

  • Company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Retirement savings plan with company matching and flexible spending accounts.
  • Generous paid parental leave and PTO.
  • Winter Wonder Week: the whole company takes a paid week off at the end of the year.
  • Remote work stipend to set up your office.
  • Perks for physical, mental, and emotional health, parenting, childcare, and financial planning.
