In Vivo Biologist II

Duties And Responsibilities

• Supports multiple animal studies including in-vivo animal handling skills, take down, tissue collection, and dosing.
• Carries out randomize, blind, formulation, dosing of test compounds to study animals using various methodologies (PO, SC, IM, IV, IP).
• Processes, labels, and delivers samples for analysis internally and externally.
• Conducts or assists in conducting in vivo behavioral studies.
• Accurately reports and records test data in electronic or handwritten notebooks in a timely manner.
• Performs testing independently and with limited supervision.
• Reports safety, instrument, and technical issues to appropriate contacts.
• Maintains supplies, lab cleanliness, and analytical instrumentation.
• Prepares stock solutions and keeps shelves and reagents stocked.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of current methods and products to be tested.
• Follows guidelines set forth with clients and in Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc. Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures.
• Performs basic data analysis as assigned.
• Assists with training.

Skills & Proficiencies

• Demonstrated proficiency in dosing and handling mice and rats.
• Able to collect animal plasma, cerebral spinal fluid, and tissues.
• Written and verbal communication skills, including effective communication in a group setting, with colleagues, and clients.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks and organize and prioritize workload to meet or exceed deadlines.
• Individual and team work ethic.
• Proficiency with Windows, Word, and Excel.

Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biology or closely related field.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience with molecular biology techniques.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.
