About the Role

The In-Room Dining Attendant ensures all resort guests have the highest quality food and beverage in-room dining experience. This position involves one-on-one guest interaction, taking and delivering orders, preparing trays/carts, making cocktails, and accurately inputting orders into the point-of-sale (POS) system. The role maintains professionalism, cleanliness, and Forbes 5 Star service standards to ensure guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Create memorable guest experiences by providing exceptional, enthusiastic, and engaging service.
  • Greet guests promptly with a smile, escort them to tables, and provide menus as applicable.
  • Respond to guest calls promptly, ensuring orders are accurately placed and closed in a timely manner.
  • Process sales transactions accurately, adhering to cash handling procedures and tip policies.
  • Prepare and serve meals on trays and carts according to Forbes 5 Star and department standards.
  • Deliver food and condiments to guest rooms, ensuring neat and accurate presentation.
  • Stock assigned areas with condiments, plastic ware, coffee, and other necessary items.
  • Restock ice bins continuously during operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of workstations and assigned areas.
  • Ensure hallways are free from service debris and return room service trays to the kitchen for breakdown.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support department operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience as a food server in a high-volume and/or fine dining environment preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a hotel environment preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Must perform simple mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Must manage cash transactions accurately and securely.
  • Must provide clear, effective, and friendly communication with guests and team members.
  • Must evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Must work under pressure, staying calm and efficient during busy periods.

Qualifications

  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Food Handler’s Card.

Physical Requirements

  • Primary work environment is climate-controlled in a Casino & Resort setting.
  • May require travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
  • Must be available to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
  • Must work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • Strength to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Sedentary work involving sitting most of the time, with constant computer and office machinery use.
  • Physical activities include balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • Hearing sufficient to understand conversational levels in person, via videoconference, and over the telephone.
  • Speech sufficient to be heard and understood in person, in groups, in meetings, via videoconference, and over the telephone.
  • Visual acuity for preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing computer terminals, reading, and inspecting employees, visitors, or facilities.
  • Mobility to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, and operate a motor vehicle for travel.
  • Endurance to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods throughout the work shift.
  • Must present a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance in accordance with departmental policy.
  • May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including secondhand smoke; reasonable accommodation will be made in compliance with applicable law.
