In Process Inspector (Contract)
About the role
The In-Process Inspector will be responsible for performing inspections of precision-manufactured components and assemblies during various stages of production. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong knowledge of inspection tools and techniques, and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Responsibilities
- Perform in-process inspections of machined, assembled, and fabricated components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Utilize precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines) to verify dimensional accuracy.
- Interpret blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical documentation.
- Document inspection results and generate reports, including non-conformance reports (NCRs) when necessary.
- Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality personnel to identify and resolve manufacturing discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Maintain inspection records and assist with internal and external audits.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency.
Requirements
- Experience in in-process inspection within an aerospace, defense, or precision machining environment.
- Strong proficiency in using precision measurement tools and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of GD&T principles and AS9100/ISO 9001 quality standards.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required due to government contract requirements.
