In-Person Fitness Instructor - PRN

About the role

STGi is currently seeking qualified In-Person Fitness Instructor candidates to support our Wellness and Health Promotion Services contract with Federal Occupational Health in College Park & Rockville, MD.

Responsibilities

- Instruct regularly scheduled group fitness classes, including Mind/body classes, Specialty classes, and General classes. - Instruct at various intensity levels for participants of varying skill levels. - Start class on time. - For onsite classes, arrive early to set up the mic/sound system and your station with all necessary equipment. - For virtual classes, login early to confirm connectivity, video and sound, and set up your station with all necessary equipment. - Ensure the setting is appropriate for virtual classes (i.e., spacious, uncluttered, well lit, professional), the camera is at a suitable angle and distance, and the location has a reliable internet connection. - Ensure your attire is fitness professional. - When a sub is needed, notify your Health Fitness or FOH Manager as soon as possible. - Report attendance numbers as requested. - Assist with the completion of safety event forms should there be an unusual incident. - Manage customer/agency complaints professionally and elevate concerns to your Health Fitness or FOH Manager.

Requirements

- Must demonstrate proficiency in group fitness instruction. - Must possess excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills. - National certification in group fitness if teaching general classes such as strength, cardiovascular, and core classes. - National certification in specialty format if teaching classes such as Cycle, Zumba, Les Mills formats, Yoga, and Pilates with preferred additional national certification in group fitness. - Minimum of 1 years’ experience in group fitness instruction for specialty formats preferred. - Current CPR/AED certification when teaching on-site classes.
