About the role

LA Tutors 123 is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Mandarin teacher to lead an in-person language program for a partner school's Extended Care program in the Pasadena area. This is a wonderful opportunity for a passionate educator to build and teach a structured Mandarin curriculum for elementary-aged students in a supportive school environment.

Class Structure

The program consists of two consecutive sessions each Tuesday:

  • 2:00–3:00 PM — Grades K–2
  • 3:00–4:00 PM — Grades 3–5

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop an age-appropriate Mandarin curriculum for both grade groups
  • Deliver engaging, interactive in-person lessons each Tuesday
  • Adapt instruction to meet the developmental needs of K–2 and 3–5 students
  • Track student progress and maintain a positive, encouraging classroom environment

Qualifications

  • Native or near-native Mandarin proficiency
  • Prior experience teaching Mandarin to children, preferably in a classroom or group setting
  • Strong curriculum development skills
  • Reliable, professional, and comfortable working independently
  • Experience with elementary-aged students preferred
