About the role
Rowan University seeks adjunct instructors and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to teach in-person and online courses for the BS in Healthcare Management and Administration (BS in HCM) and the MS in Healthcare Management (MS in HCM) programs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures, facilitate discussions, and provide hands-on guidance in both in-person and online settings.
- Support students in various formats, including first-year students, transfer students, and 3+1 students.
- Collaborate with instructional designers to develop master course shells and ensure high-quality online course content.
- Offer timely support, expert knowledge, and virtual office hours to students.
- Recognize and accommodate diverse learning needs, offering flexible evening and weekend availability.
- Provide timely feedback and guidance on course assignments, assessments, and grades.
- Maintain a positive, accepting learning environment and support a diverse group of students.
- Maintain current knowledge in the field and complete necessary training, orientation, and administrative tasks.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Healthcare Management, Business Management, or a related Public Health Management degree.
- At least 5 years of clinical experience.
- Strong skills in critical thinking, emotional intelligence, leadership, diversity, and inclusion.
- Strong communication skills, ensuring clear course objectives, expectations, and feedback.
- Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.
- A doctoral-level degree in a relevant field, such as healthcare administration or management, is preferred for the MS in HCM program.
Qualifications
- Legal authorization to work in the US.
- Reside in the US.
Skills
- Proficiency with a learning management system (LMS).
- Video conferencing platforms.
- Collaboration tools.
- Familiarity with Canvas LMS.
- A doctoral-level degree in a relevant field, such as healthcare administration or management, is preferred for SMEs in the MS in HCM program.
Benefits
Adjuncts are provided with a minimum of $2,225 (after 9/1/2026) per credit for all courses taught, with a maximum teaching load of 8 credits per semester and 12 credits in an academic year.
