Adjunct Instructor- Medical and Health Services Management - All Subjects

Position Summary

Weatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for this continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position within the department. Applying for an adjunct appointment would add the applicant to a pool which is available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case a need arises for the academic year. When an opening occurs, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants on an as needed basis. The Adjunct Faculty in Healthcare Management will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging instruction in healthcare management courses to undergraduate and/or graduate students. This position requires a knowledgeable professional with expertise in healthcare systems, policy, and management practices. The instructor will develop and implement curriculum, assess student learning, and foster a collaborative educational environment that encourages active participation and critical thinking. Key responsibilities include preparing course materials, conducting lectures and discussions, evaluating student performance, and providing mentorship and guidance to students. The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background and practical experience in the healthcare sector, demonstrating a commitment to student success and the advancement of healthcare education. Candidates with a master’s degree in healthcare management, business administration, or related fields, along with relevant professional experience in healthcare settings, are encouraged to apply. Teaching experience at the college level is preferred but not mandatory. Required Education

All faculty members must provide minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) credential standards which normally include an earned Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in the teaching discipline. Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with application.

Required Experience

Strong background related to course selection.
Professional/teaching experience in healthcare management,
Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education is strongly preferred.
Courses are specifically to teach online.

Preferred Education

Terminal degree in Healthcare Management or related field.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Create and maintain an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned, be they face-to-face, hybrid, online, or within the context of dual credit instruction.
• Maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures.
• Provide instruction in both traditional and non-traditional learning modes and engage in instructional preparation.
• Provide timely feedback to students and respond to student communications in a timely manner.
• Assessment of student performance; including submission of final grades in a timely fashion.
• Maintain ethical and professional behavior.
• Be available to students by appointment.
• Attend adjunct faculty meetings.
• Assess courses on departmental and institutional levels.
• Complete any required training.
• Other related duties, as assigned.

• Instruct in face-to-face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses;
• Provide instruction that will achieve the specific goals and objectives associated with all assigned courses;
