About the role

We are seeking an experienced solicitor (minimum 5PQE) to join our in-house team providing legal advice and representation to our clients. You will also manage the firm’s compliance function, assisted by our practice administrators, and act as the firm’s Compliance Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice on a wide range of criminal and civil matters
  • Conduct thorough case preparation and case management
  • Maintain accurate file opening, closing and appropriate correspondence
  • Submit Legal Aid applications where necessary in line with current rules
  • Act as the firm’s Compliance Officer for regulatory purposes
  • Review (and implement new where necessary) the firm’s compliance processes
  • Track file compliance of consultant solicitors throughout the year to ensure that the firm operates in line with current regulatory requirements
  • Manage regulatory audits

Requirements

Your duties will include:

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ PQE as a solicitor
  • Experience in providing legal advice and representation to clients
  • Experience managing a compliance function
  • Experience acting as a Compliance Officer for regulatory purposes
  • Experience reviewing and implementing compliance processes
  • Experience tracking file compliance and managing regulatory audits

Pay

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The role is predominantly office based but with the possibility of some flexibility for the right candidate.
