In-House/Field Technician
About the role
Performs a wide variety of skilled mechanic duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and modify mechanical equipment and facilities. Uses a wide variety of hand, power, and machine tools to perform assignments. Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical equipment and systems requiring the isolation of the malfunction, disassembly of equipment and repair/replacement of bearings, gears, structural components, etc. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and mechanical systems.
Responsibilities
- Safely troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all rotating equipment and associated mechanical systems including compressors, pumps, fans, blowers, boiler systems, valves and the ability to perform equipment alignments.
- Plan and execute maintenance tasks, and completion of all follow-up documentation.
- Complete and document maintenance activities associated with predictive and corrective maintenance activities in computerized maintenance database.
- Complete some repairs of mechanical piping systems including threaded and welded pipe systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A high school diploma/GED required.
- 3 - 5 years of equipment maintenance experience in chemical manufacturing setting preferred.
Qualifications
- Knowledgeable in OSHA Process Safety Management Program elements including Mechanical Integrity, Management of Change, Operating Procedure Elements.
- Understanding of welding techniques.
- Knowledge of high pressure piping systems.
- Knowledge of cryogenic pumps and systems.
- Basic understanding of electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
- Computer skills including Microsoft applications.
Skills
- High school diploma/GED.
- Equipment maintenance experience in chemical manufacturing setting.
- OSHA Process Safety Management knowledge.
- Welding techniques.
- Piping systems knowledge.
- Cryogenic pumps and systems knowledge.
