In-House Consultant Terminal Planner

About the role

We are looking for a Port Planner to provide marine terminal planning and operations services to major port authorities and container terminal operator clients. You will work closely with our Transportation Planning, Rail and Transit, Highway and Roadway, and Advisory Practices across the country. Responsibilities

• Conduct marine and intermodal terminal capacity and operational analysis.
• Perform technical oversight on four marine terminals.
• Prepare due diligence studies for container, auto, intermodal rail terminals, port or regional maritime authorities, and marine and/or intermodal terminal operators.
• Lead new container terminal and/or existing terminal expansion feasibility analysis and design.
• Support port project proposals.
• Help to build, maintain, and grow existing and new client accounts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, planning, civil engineering, environmental science, social science, or a related field from an accredited college or university (or equivalent).
• 20+ years of previous freight and port planning experience (preferred).
• Good knowledge of intermodal rail facilities at ports and supply chain security.
• Experience working with major port authorities including Port of Los Angeles, Port of Long Beach, and others.
• Experience working with container terminal operator clients.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaborative teamwork skills.

Pay

The expected salary for this position is $165,000–$200,000.

Schedule

Hybrid work model with a minimum of three days per week in the office (Seattle, WA or Los Angeles, CA). Flexibility to balance client, team, and personal commitments.
