Airport Planner
About the role
The Airport Planner will develop airport planning documents and programs for the Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport (MSP) and the six Reliever Airports. The position involves planning and coordinating long-term plans/master plans and airport layout plans, building relationships with other MAC departments, airport tenants, and with other governmental jurisdictions, and the Federal Aviation Administration, MnDOT Aeronautics, and the Metropolitan Council.
Responsibilities
- Manage airport zoning and variance processes
- Manage gate plots and simulations for aircraft movements and passenger flows for MSP
- Manage environmental review processes for facility development
- Help with budgeting and project programming for the Planning business unit
- Work with the Director of Planning to self-start planning projects with minimal guidance
Requirements
An interest in and passion for aviation, vision, excellent critical thinking skills, and the ability to self-start planning projects with minimal guidance from the Director of Planning are required.
Qualifications
Master's degree in urban planning, airport planning, or related field preferred. Experience in airport planning, zoning, and environmental review processes is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Skills
Strong organizational and project management skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are required.

$80,000 - $90,000 annually.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
