In-Home Solar Sales Representative
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated, results-driven In-Home Solar Sales Representative to join our growing residential solar team. This role is designed for experienced closers and high-potential sales professionals who thrive in face-to-face environments and are passionate about helping homeowners transition to clean, cost-saving energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-home consultations with qualified homeowners
- Analyze homeowners’ energy usage and explain solar savings opportunities
- Present customized solar system proposals and financing options
- Build trust and establish strong customer relationships during the sales process
- Educate customers on solar benefits, incentives, tax credits, and long-term savings
- Handle objections confidently and professionally
- Close sales and complete all required documentation accurately
- Maintain consistent follow-up communication with prospects
- Collaborate with operations and project management teams to ensure smooth customer onboarding
- Track sales activity and pipeline updates within CRM systems
- Meet or exceed monthly sales goals and performance metrics
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of in-home sales experience, preferably in solar, roofing, windows, HVAC, alarms, or home improvement
- Proven track record of closing deals in a commission-based environment
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong negotiation and objection-handling abilities
- Self-motivated with a competitive and goal-oriented mindset
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Preferred: Previous residential solar sales experience, familiarity with financing platforms and solar proposal software, experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce or HubSpot
