In-Home Services Counselor 7E (IHSC, DSP)

About the role

Residential Services, Inc. (RSI) is hiring a full-time Independent Living Skills Counselor (IHSC) for our In-Home Adult program in North Branch, MN. As an IHSC, you will help people with disabilities and mental illness live their best, most independent lives. What you'll do

As an IHSC, you will serve adults/youth living in private home settings. You will help individuals achieve their maximum level of independence by providing skill training and supports needed to perform everyday tasks. You will assess the person's needs and work collaboratively with the person and their support team to develop and implement supports plans that will help them achieve independence in a variety of skill areas, including:

• Physical and personal needs
• Communication
• Household management
• Community living/mobility
• Reduction/elimination of maladaptive behavior
• Sensory/motor development
• Socialization
• Vocational and educational
• Health and wellness

Requirements

• 18+ is required
• Valid driver's license with no restrictions and a working vehicle
• Education and/or experience must include:
  • A four-year degree with at least one year of work experience in the field (human services, education, or health) OR
  • A combination of a two-year degree and at least two years of experience in the field OR
  • A diploma from a post-secondary institution and three years of experience in the field OR
  • Four years of work experience in the field with 50 hours of education and training related to human services and disabilities
• Must pass a post-offer background check and Motor Vehicle Report check

Schedule & location

• Shift times are flexible during business hours (8am-4:30pm/8:30am-5:00pm for example)
• Occasional night or weekend as needed
• This position will office out of our North Branch location
• Approximately 25% of the time will be spent in the office, remainder in the field
• Supports the areas of North Branch, Cambridge, and surrounding areas
