About the role

As a Visiting Angels In-Home Personal Aide, you’ll enrich clients’ quality of life and support their wellness according to custom care plans. Opportunities for advanced training in dementia and Alzheimer’s care are available for those looking to expand their skills.

Responsibilities

• Help clients with personal care and hygiene
• Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks
• Plan and prepare meals with clients
• Handle light housekeeping duties
• Report health changes or unusual incidents
• Provide pleasant, supportive companionship
• Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies
• Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips
• Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately
• Assist with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Training in First Aid and emergency response (provided if needed)
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to juggle multiple duties
• Reliable transportation to and from client homes
• Physical endurance for tasks like carrying groceries and supporting clients
• Comfort with housekeeping and cooking while adhering to dietary constraints
• Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards (e.g., background check)
• Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients’ days
