About the role
This position is responsible for the on-boarding and enrollment management of large complex accounts. This involves development and implementation of a client enrollment implementation plan and strategy that promotes premium growth, strengthens relationships with the client, brokers or other parties of influence, and maintains overall stability of our position with the client while managing acceptable risk for the company.
In partnership with sales distribution, this role will represent Colonial Life in joint sales and implementation presentations. The position should be viewed as an objective sales partner with the field regarding account performance and as an expert resource in helping sales partners develop and deliver profitable service, enrollment, product, and re-enrollment solutions.
This role serves as the foundation for the Senior Implementation Manager position and requires a strong service and sales orientation.
Responsibilities
- Create, implement, and manage enrollment/re-enrollment strategies for assigned block of business.
- Establish enrollment implementation plans for each case, including negotiating alternative enrollment options to maximize sales opportunities and manage key deliverables, timelines, resource requirements, expense arrangements, and expectations.
- Manage the enrollment/re-enrollment process by following up on progress toward commitments and communicating progress to all partners on an ongoing basis.
- Conduct enrollment debriefing sessions with internal and external partners to confirm commitments were met and identify areas of opportunity.
- Develop and implement a well-documented growth strategy for assigned accounts.
- Provide knowledge and expertise to assist the sales organization in developing new opportunities to grow business in or related to assigned accounts through service, enrollment, and product strategies.
- Manage client-level expenses considering in-force premium, sales potential, relationship stability, and overall claims/persistency experience.
- Serve as the principal point of contact for assigned clients during implementation.
- Maintain regular and consistent communication with clients throughout the implementation process.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in sales or management of large clients preferred.
- 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience.
- Proactive client-level strategic thinking.
- Relationship-oriented with customers, consultants, home office, and the field.
- Innovative and knowledgeable in generating ways to improve access to employees, working conditions, and maximizing re-enrollment opportunities.
- Knowledge of Colonial Life business processes, enrollment technology, products, and services from end to end (e.g., benefits communication, enrollment options, billing, and service capabilities) is preferred.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to leverage analytical tools and data.
- Professional image and behavior in various settings, including client interactions.
- Excellent consultative skills.
- Organizational credibility with all levels of both Colonial Life home office and sales organization is preferred.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $63,500.00–$120,000.00. Actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location, and experience. Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive.
