About the role

The Impact Executive Director (also referred to as an Interim Floating Administrator) is responsible for the administration and overall management of assigned Americare communities in accordance with company policies and all applicable state and federal regulations. Assignments may vary in length and scope and are designed to support communities during leadership vacancies, transitions, survey readiness, recovery efforts, or performance stabilization.

What You’ll Do

  • Assume full responsibility for day-to-day operations of assigned communities, ensuring continuity of leadership and operational excellence.
  • Provide strong on-site leadership during vacancies, transitions, or emergency coverage needs.
  • Serve as the acting Executive Director/Administrator, with full authority and accountability for community performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, survey requirements, and Americare policies.
  • Lead communities through survey preparation, response, and recovery as needed.
  • Maintain ethical, sound, and compliant operational practices at all times.
  • Direct, support, and stabilize community leadership teams and frontline staff.
  • Aid in recruiting, hiring, training, and onboarding of key personnel as needed.
  • Provide coaching, performance guidance, and leadership presence to ensure continuity and morale.
  • Oversee fiscal operations, including budget management, expense control, and financial stewardship.
  • Ensure appropriate utilization and conservation of physical and financial assets.
  • Represent the community professionally with residents, families, physicians, community partners, and regulatory agencies.
  • Promote Americare’s mission, values, and standards across all interactions.
  • Maintain 24-hour on-call availability during assignments and respond to urgent operational or staffing needs.
  • Adapt quickly to changing conditions and priorities.

What You Bring

  • Education & Experience: Minimum 18 years of age. Meets education criteria required by the state to maintain administrator licensure. Ongoing continuing education to maintain licensure and stay current with industry standards.
  • Licensure: Current state Administrator license or certification, as required by state regulations (MO/IL preferred).
  • Knowledge & Skills: Strong knowledge of assisted living and/or skilled nursing operations, principles, and procedures. Solid understanding of medical terminology, medication management, and narcotic protocols. Demonstrated experience leading teams, managing operations, and stabilizing performance in senior living environments. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly in new environments. High adaptability, resilience, and comfort with frequent travel and change.

Work Environment & Travel

  • Full-Time | Exempt
  • Travel Requirement: Up to 80–100%
  • Assignments may be short-term or extended and may occur with limited notice.
  • Travel, lodging, mileage reimbursement, and meal allowances provided per Impact Staffing guidelines.
