About the role

We carry a heavy humanitarian and removal defense docket, alongside family-based and adjustment work, and need another attorney to take cases from start to finish.

Responsibilities

  • Manage your own docket of affirmative and defensive protection cases, from consultation through decision
  • Screen for humanitarian relief, withholding of removal, and CAT I-589 filings, declarations, exhibit indexes, and country conditions
  • Handle SIJS matters, including predicate order hearings in state court and the I-360 and I-485 filings that follow
  • Prepare and file adjustment, removal of conditions, and naturalization applications, and appear with clients at interviews
  • Draft briefs, pre-hearing statements, motions, RFE and NOID responses
  • Represent clients at master calendar and individual hearings at EOIR, and handle appeals to the BIA
  • Prepare clients and witnesses, including for cross-examination
  • Direct paralegals on case builds
  • Monitor critical deadlines: the one-year filing bar, call-ups, biometrics, and the EOIR clock

Requirements

  • Active bar license in a U.S. state, in good standing
  • Fluent Turkish and English at a professional level
  • Willingness and ability to travel for in-person hearings and interviews
  • Ability to manage a full docket without dropping details
