About the role
We carry a heavy humanitarian and removal defense docket, alongside family-based and adjustment work, and need another attorney to take cases from start to finish.
Responsibilities
- Manage your own docket of affirmative and defensive protection cases, from consultation through decision
- Screen for humanitarian relief, withholding of removal, and CAT I-589 filings, declarations, exhibit indexes, and country conditions
- Handle SIJS matters, including predicate order hearings in state court and the I-360 and I-485 filings that follow
- Prepare and file adjustment, removal of conditions, and naturalization applications, and appear with clients at interviews
- Draft briefs, pre-hearing statements, motions, RFE and NOID responses
- Represent clients at master calendar and individual hearings at EOIR, and handle appeals to the BIA
- Prepare clients and witnesses, including for cross-examination
- Direct paralegals on case builds
- Monitor critical deadlines: the one-year filing bar, call-ups, biometrics, and the EOIR clock
Requirements
- Active bar license in a U.S. state, in good standing
- Fluent Turkish and English at a professional level
- Willingness and ability to travel for in-person hearings and interviews
- Ability to manage a full docket without dropping details
In-person preferred; hybrid or remote considered. Immigration experience preferred but not required. Newly admitted attorneys who want to build this practice are welcome to apply.
