Job Summary
The Immersive Experience Designer will lead the spatial development of immersive environments, integrating architecture, digital content, and storytelling. This role is crucial for scaling the studio's ability to deliver high-impact work.
About the Role
This is a hands-on design role for someone who can translate big ideas into real, spatially resolved concepts. The role involves working directly with the Director of IxD to develop immersive environments that integrate architecture, digital content, and storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage 3D models, diagrams, and spatial systems that support interactive, experiential, and exhibit-based projects.
- Collaborate with architects, designers, and digital experience teams to ensure design intent carries through from concept to execution.
- Resolve technical and spatial challenges related to fabrication, AV integration, and emerging technologies.
- Contribute to presentations and design narratives for clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
- Act as a key bridge between creative vision and real-world implementation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Design, or a related field.
- A portfolio demonstrating strong spatial design thinking, 3D modeling, and concept development.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and visualization tools such as SketchUp, Rhino, Revit, D5, Lumion, Enscape, or similar.
- A strong understanding of spatial design principles and experience working on architectural or experiential projects.
- 3+ years of professional experience in a related field.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
- Comfort working in early-stage, conceptual environments where problems are often undefined and solutions require exploration.
Qualifications
- Experience with immersive, exhibit, museum, experiential, or themed environments.
- Familiarity with AV systems, fabrication processes, or design-build workflows.
- Proficiency in advanced tools such as Rhino/Grasshopper, Unreal Engine, TouchDesigner, or similar.
- The ability to think systemically about how spaces, technology, content, and users interact.
- A passion for emerging technologies and interest in how digital tools shape physical environments.
- A desire to take ownership, grow into a leadership role, and help shape a developing creative studio.
