About the role

This position is a work from home opportunity with the requirement to come onsite as needed. The position is based in Harvey, Illinois, with the expectation that the employee will be onsite 2-4 days weekly.

Responsibilities

  • Provides timely, accurate and informative analyses of the current status and forecasting results of operations, including clinical activity, revenues and expenses.
  • Works collaboratively within a cross-functional team to develop and maintain labor management and productivity systems - partnering with clinical operations to drive financial performance and proactively ensure the fiscal health of the organization.
  • Makes strategic decisions and provides objective data and analysis that enables leadership to surface issues and achieve strategic goals.
  • Develops and maintains labor productivity standards, revenue cycle performance, and hospital financial plans including operating and capital budgets.
  • Measures strategic and operational performance and targets and communicates routinely to management.
  • Oversees decision support and POP Health Analytics and is responsible for the direction and oversight of analytics, reporting and research to support clinical, financial, and user reporting, product development and business and financial strategy.
  • Drives operational excellence and optimizes financial performance while maintaining the highest standards of patient care at Ingalls Memorial Hospital.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting required.
  • Advanced degree in IT/Data Management preferred.
  • 5 years of hospital Finance, Decision Support, and/or Population Health Analytics preferred from a standalone facility within a large corporation or complex healthcare system.
  • Advanced knowledge of labor productivity standards, revenue cycle performance, and hospital financial plans including operating and capital budgets are essential.
  • A sound knowledge of healthcare accounting, finance and cost controls with skills in business acumen, strategic planning, organizational assessment, highly developed leadership and quantitative analytic abilities.
  • Experience developing reports using Crystal or an equivalent model.
  • Ability to analyze information, present data, and draw conclusions by applying analysis techniques, using data to drive positive performance.

Qualifications

  • Advanced interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively and exercise a high degree of diplomacy, discretion and collaboration in dealing with constituencies at various levels of the organization.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to speak articulately and to answer difficult questions with confidence.
  • Effective ability to bring clarity to complex issues and coach problem-solving techniques is essential, along with the ability to model a creative and proactive ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • An individual of unquestioned integrity and moral character who represents the values of the organization.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft products, especially Excel and Access.
  • Fluent in ERP/financial software systems required, including Oracle Cloud, and ability to harness information for PowerPoint presentations and insights.
