Imaging Technologist II - Mammography

Responsibilities

• Prepares and performs radiological (X-ray) imaging of the breast (mammography).
• Reads and comprehends imaging orders, engaging with physicians when necessary.
• Selects appropriate scanning protocols and imaging parameters based on knowledge of human anatomy.
• Interviews patients to understand risk factors and guide them through the examination process.
• Uploads imaging results into PACS and records information into EMR system.
• Precepts entry-level staff and orients new colleagues as needed.
• Collaborates to plan the workday and patient flow with colleagues.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited program in Radiological Science.
• Five (5) years of experience working in a clinical imaging role, with at least three (3) years specifically in mammography.
• Advanced certification in Mammography (ARRT-M) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• Good understanding of human anatomy, either through education or experience.
• Experience performing stereotactic guided breast biopsies and/or contrast-enhanced mammography.
• Experience reading and interpreting radiology orders.
• Experience working with PACS.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Qualifications

• Must have a current unrestricted license to practice as a Radiologic Technologist in the state of North Carolina.

Schedule
