Imaging Intern - Diagnostic Radiology - Evening

Responsibilities

• Transfers and positions patients.
• Provides immobilization devices as needed.
• Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
• Selects and operates equipment in order to produce quality radiographic images.
• Provides radiation protection to patients and to self in accordance with current radiation safety standards.
• P Practices sterile technique when necessary.
• Maintains a sanitary environment.
• Follows the principles of universal precautions for potentially infectious body substances.
• Maintains the safety of patients and visitors at all times.
• Uses all computer systems in the manner for which they are intended.
• Follows departmental procedures for documenting patient activity within the computer systems.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of the assigned patient population.
• Affirms patient, visitor, and staff by complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
• Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
• Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Certificate Program
• Required: Must be a student within an accredited program in radiologic technology, who has maintained satisfactory completion of all clinical competency requirements throughout the radiologic technology program.
