Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial aspects of groundworks and civils projects.
- Liaise with clients, ensuring requirements are met and projects progress as planned.
- Prepare and present accurate valuation forecasts and monthly valuations.
- Verify payments against applications and summarise debtor positions.
- Price, negotiate, and agree contractual variations with clients.
- Support project teams in mitigating risks to health & safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
- Oversee procurement and payment of subcontractors/suppliers.
- Complete cost/value analysis, financial forecasts, and monthly performance summaries.
- Mentor Assistant and Trainee Quantity Surveyors.
Skills & Experience
- Essential: 10+ years’ experience within groundworks/civils quantity surveying.
- Strong commercial acumen and client-facing skills.
- Excellent numerical, verbal, and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently, manage workload, and meet deadlines.
- IT literate (MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Desirable: HNC or equivalent in Quantity Surveying/Construction.
- Highly organised, detail-focused, and methodical approach.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
- Positive, proactive, and professional manner.
Qualifications
- Essential: GCSE Maths & English (Grade C or above).
- Desirable: HNC or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Construction.
