(IM2575) Senior Quantity Surveyor

Key Responsibilities

• Manage commercial aspects of groundworks and civils projects.
• Liaise with clients, ensuring requirements are met and projects progress as planned.
• Prepare and present accurate valuation forecasts and monthly valuations.
• Verify payments against applications and summarise debtor positions.
• Price, negotiate, and agree contractual variations with clients.
• Support project teams in mitigating risks to health & safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
• Oversee procurement and payment of subcontractors/suppliers.
• Complete cost/value analysis, financial forecasts, and monthly performance summaries.
• Mentor Assistant and Trainee Quantity Surveyors.

Skills & Experience

• Essential: 10+ years’ experience within groundworks/civils quantity surveying.
• Strong commercial acumen and client-facing skills.
• Excellent numerical, verbal, and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage workload, and meet deadlines.
• IT literate (MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Desirable: HNC or equivalent in Quantity Surveying/Construction.
• Highly organised, detail-focused, and methodical approach.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
• Positive, proactive, and professional manner.

Qualifications

• Essential: GCSE Maths & English (Grade C or above).
• Desirable: HNC or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Construction.
